Thoughts on Medicine School, from a medical student

When I was gining exams to get into the Uni I didn't truly want to be a doctor. I was in love with astrophysics. I wanted to be a physicist and then go abroad to get my master on astronomy and astrophysics. It turns out I had the capabilities to study and get into medical school. Had a lot of support and everyone was happy I was in. Great. I talked all summer with my friends about not truly wanting to be here. But I always thought, well, let's give it a shot. I like challenges, this could be one of them. I was in Alexandroupolis, a town in northern Greece for one month studying medicine. It took me 3 weeks to adjest. Then I had to leave to Patra, a southern town of Greece to study medicine, in order to not...

Do you guys ever get pissed off when people in the general public do not really know what we do and our training to get to where we are? Little do they know we can transition from being primary care to emergency room to critical care doctors in a blink of an eye. What do you guys say to the misinformed that think all we did is push some medications into an IV and then wake someone back up?

Hey everyone, Hope you're all staying safe during this pandemic. I am a medical student who was supposed to graduate this month but the graduation got delayed for 2 months. Staying home during this pandemic allowed me to think and reevaluate my decisions. This lead me to road block when I wanted to choose a specialty. I've always wanted pediatrics. After my pediatrics rotation I started to enjoy other rotations even less. However, I also enjoyed the pediatric surgery rotation. Dealing with... Choosing A Specialty That Fits
