Laparoscopic Groin Hernia Repair; Is it Time for Reconsideration?

Aim: Groin hernias referrals are common, with a life time risk of 27% in men and 3% in women. Overall operative complication rate ranges between 15% and 27% for adults. Laparoscopic hernia repair is cost effective in the long-term with quick recovery and less post-operative pain. The aim of this study is to assess our practice against the NICE Guidelines and ASGBI Groin hernia guidelines.
