Baltimore Food System Resilience Advisory Report

Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health. 08/2017 This 168-page report assesses factors that can predict the Baltimore food system ' s resilience, including pre-event system functioning; hazards likely to impact Baltimore ' s food system; vulnerable people, places, and resources; preparedness among communities, food providers, and government agencies; and social capital in communities. It finds that smaller food businesses, including farmers, and local non-profit food assistance organizations may particularly lack preparedness for disasters, and do not all have resources needed to plan for emergencies.
