JefferyAbstractPre-fermentative juice substitution with water or early harvest wine has the potential to produce lower alcohol wines without critically modifying colour or tannin properties and only marginally changing volatile and sensory profiles. Whether this approach is suited to producing lower alcohol wines in the absence of excessive grape ripeness remained to be determined. The current study extends on pre-fermentative approaches to alcohol management under milder g...

Publication date: 15 December 2019Source: Journal of Molecular Liquids, Volume 296Author(s): Mahmoud Rahmati, Marjan Jangali, Hossein RezaeiAbstractThe conductivity and diffusion of hydronium ions at 298 K in PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol), PBI (Polybenzimidazole) and SPEEK (Sulfonated polyether ether ketone) as known membranes of PEMFCs have been investigated using molecular dynamics simulation method throughout this work. The simulation results show that the diffusion of hydronium ions in these polymer membranes depends on the polymer structure and water concentration in the membrane. On the other hand, RDF analysis results a...

In this study, the gel bead was characterized using FTIR, XPS, SEM, EDS, and 13C NMR. The experimental data shows that there is a strong correlation between adsorption capacity. The adsorption data fitted well with the Freundlich isotherm model and the pseudo-second-order model. The results of thermodynamics show that the adsorption process is spontaneous, endothermic, and increases entropy. The maximum adsorption capacity for DS was calculated as 493.81 mg/g at pH 5 (308 K). The adsorbent still exhibited excellent adsorption capacity after recycling five times, showing it has excellent potential for practical applicat...

Hatcher, Andrew Gibbs, Ruari McBride, Dumisani Rebombo, Mzwakhe Khumalo, Nicola ChristofidesAbstractMen whose sexual behaviors place them at risk of HIV often exhibit a “cluster” of behaviors, including alcohol misuse and violence against women. Called the “Substance Abuse, Violence and AIDS (SAVA) syndemic,” this intersecting set of issues is poorly understood among heterosexual men in sub-Saharan Africa. We aim to determine cross-sectional associations between men's use of alcohol, violence,...

Os testes Alcohol Use Disorders Identificati on Test (AUDIT) e Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND) avaliaram o uso de álcool e cigarro respectivamente. O Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) foi utilizado para rastreio de saúde mental. Os testes Iowa Gambling Task (IGT), W...
