Low incidence of perineal hernia repair after abdominoperineal resection for rectal cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of perineal hernia repair was below 1% after conventional abdominoperineal resection and proctocolectomy. PROMS and risk of recurrence may benefit from centralising perineal hernia repair.
