Call for Applications: 2014 Student National Dental Association Darryl Hawkins Memorial Scholarship The Student National Dental Association (SNDA) has established a scholarship in the name of Dr. Darryl A. Hawkins, a 1989 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine and a very active member of the SNDA.  Dr. Hawkins died suddenly at the age of 27 from a cardiac arrhythmia on January 29, 1990 while jogging near his home in Marietta, Georgia.  As a member of SNDA, he served as Director of Regional Coordinators for the year 1988-1989.  Dr. Hawkins was a leader in the SNDA and we hope to commemorate his life through this scholarship. The SNDA is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the next disbursement of the annual Darryl Hawkins Scholarship. Two (2) $500 recipients will be awarded scholarships. Awards will be announced at the National Convention in National Harbor, MD. NOTE: Recipients are not required to be present at the convention in National Harbor to apply. Current SNDA members who are interested in commemorating his legacy must complete the scholarship application below as well as meet the following criteria: 1.  Students currently should be a rising second, third, or fourth year students (graduating seniors are not eligible); 2.  Students must obtain one (1) letter of recommendation from a current faculty member; 3.  Students must be in good academic standing, as ver...
