Carter Center among 8 semifinalists worldwide to win MacArthur $100M grant
Atlanta-based The Carter Center beat out thousands of competitors worldwide to become one of eight semifinalists to win a single $100 million grant from the MacArthur Foundation.
The center entered as its project its joint effort with Nigeria and its partners to eliminate river blindness. If it wins the 100&Change competition, it would scale efforts to eliminate the parasitic disease, center representatives said.
