American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Young Investigators Grant The Young Investigator Grant provides awards in amounts of up to $50,000 aimed at providing "seed money," or start-up funds, for pilot projects. The principal investigator must be an early career orthopaedic surgeon, fellow, or resident with interests in sports medicine research. Any investigational team seeking such a grant must include at least one member of AOSSM in good standing. To begin the application process, please review the guidelines specific to this grant and complete all information as described. All information should be submitted in one pdf document to Bart Mann, AOSSM Director of Research. Pre-reviews: In an effort to improve the quality and competitiveness of submissions, the AOSSM Research Committee will pre-review and critique applications prior to the final application deadline. This pre-review is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED but not required. It is anticipated that by participating in the pre-review process, the applicant's chances for funding will improve. The pre-review will focus on: Significance of proposed research Scientific quality Statistical methods Realistic nature of goals Long term value of results Pilot data Pre-Review Deadline: August 15th, 2014.
