Dynamic thiol/disulfide homeostasis in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and its relation with disease subtypes

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a prevelant childhood neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by early onset of persistent symptom patterns of hyperactivity, impulsiveness, and/or inattention. These symptoms are known to be recurrent and severe enough to cause a significant functional impairment in educational or occupational performance and ordinary activities. ADHD has four subtypes, predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive/impulsive, a combination of both, and not otherwise specified [1].
