Make the Diagnosis: Bewildering Bone Pain

(MedPage Today) -- Case Findings: A 23-year-old male presents with a presumed diagnosis of vanishing bone disease (Gorham ' s disease), a rare condition in which bone is lost in conjunction with an overgrowth of lymphatic vessels. However, the patient presents with ongoing severe pain, which is uncommon in Gorham ' s disease. He was treated with interferon and zoledronic acid, but discontinued these treatments because of severe side effects. What is your diagnosis?
