Elevated inflammatory markers predict mortality in long-term ischemic stroke-survivors: a population-based prospective study.

CONCLUSIONS: Fibrinogen and IL-6 were independent predictors of mortality in long-term stroke-survivors, whereas elevated hs-CRP predicted mortality in stroke-free subjects.
