An unusual cause of gait disturbance in a patient with Parkinson ’s disease: Beware of mimics and chameleons

Background: The co-occurrence of Parkinson ’s disease (PD) and normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) might pose a challenging diagnosis given the unusual combination of both entities and some phenomenological similarities, such as gait impairment. It is crucial not to miss the diagnosis of NPH in a patient with PD since it implies a differen t treatment approach.
