299. Peripheral Epigenetic Estimates of Brain Cell Types in Externalizing Behaviours

Externalizing neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) are common and no effective treatment exists. The exact molecular aetiology of these disorders and -associated behaviours remains unclear, but different brain cell types (BCTs), including microglia, might play an important role. However, the lack of brain samples hamper research on the role of microglia in NDDs. Recently, it has been shown that brain-derived DNA methylation (DNAm), which is cell-type specific, can be used to retrieve BCT proportions.
