A rare case of typical and unforgettable cervical malignant melanoma

A 67-year-old women, gravida 2 para 2, presented with a 1-year history of vaginal bleeding. Upon examination, extensive dermatological and mucosal inspections failed to reveal any signs of primary melanoma. A gynecological examination revealed a cervix with a normal size and a completely purplish-blue appearance, devoid of ulcers, polypoid masses, or flower-like growths. The vaginal walls exhibited scattered, flaky, purple-blue changes. Suspicion of vaginal melanoma invasion was raised. HPV testing was negative, and cytological examination indicated the presence of atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance.
