Conquering Neurologic Diseases in Primary Care

Neurologic diseases are the leading cause of disability and second leading cause of death worldwide.1 In 2017, more than 60% of the US population had at least one neurologic disorder.2 This burden is only expected to grow as the population ages and as the prevalence of conditions that predispose to the development of these diseases, like hypertension and diabetes, increases. By 2040, nearly 12 million Americans will have dementia and, by 2060, an estimated 14.5 million will have had a stroke.3,4
