Comprehensive Aortic Training Course Using Cadaveric Pulsatile Flow Models to Improve Open and Endovascular Skills Throughout the Entire Spectrum of RAAA Management

The nationwide decline in the incidence of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (RAAA) and open aortic aneurysm repair threatens with decreasing trainee experience across the US, which needs to be addressed. Due to the emergency nature of RAAAs, teaching is less emphasized during these cases. Consequently, it is imperative to provide a dedicated environment to educate trainees in a safe and stress-free manner. To improve the skillset and experience of vascular trainees in the management of RAAA we created a comprehensive RAAA training course which provides an opportunity to practice the entire spectrum of RAAA management in a lifelike environment.
