Health policy decisions are often viewed from a high-level or population perspective, but the implications and effects on individuals can be substantial. The recent US Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women ’s Health Organization to strike down protections enacted decades ago in the Roe v. Wade ruling have had far-reaching implications for health care in the United States. Beyond the obvious changes in access to abortion services, the ruling will impact family planning services, access to contracepti on, and other aspects of women’s reproductive health.
