Diagnostic approach to the Pediatric Brugada Syndrome: A survey of international common practice

The Brugada Syndrome (BrS) is a rare inherited disorder predisposing patients to arrythmia and sudden cardiac death. Since its first description in 1992 1 much has been learned about its clinical characteristics, associated genetic changes, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic options 2. A considerable number of patients are already symptomatic in infancy 2. For these early and often severe presentations assumptions from adult studies might not be valid. In 2014 a first comprehensive review of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in the pediatric BrS was published 3.
