Influence of Home Language Use on the Association Between Parent  Education and Child Adiposity in Latino Families

ConclusionHigher education was associated with a lower BMI percentile only in Spanish-speaking homes. Research to understand how home language influences this relationship is warranted, particularly as it relates to a subset of education and health literacy. Significant results with BMI percentile but not percent body fat highlight the fact that these distinct markers of obesity are not interchangeable.
