National Trends in the Endovascular and Surgical Treatment of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

The prevalence and incidence of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) has increased significantly over recent years, parallel to the rise in prevalence of obesity1. Emergency readmissions for symptom flares or treatment failures are significant issues with IIH that impose a substantial financial burden on the healthcare system in the United States (U.S.)2. Medical therapy is the first line in the management of IIH. However, patients may require further procedural treatments in refractory or severe cases.
