Challenges encountered during the implementation of the project Self-monitoring of Blood Pressure and Urinalysis by Pregnant Mothers in Cumberland infirmary. NCIC

Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy affect approximately 10% of pregnant individuals globally, and are among the leading causes of pregnancy-related mortality and morbidities. Pre-eclampsia is a condition that typically occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy. It is a combination of raised blood pressure (hypertension), protein in your urine (proteinuria). Regular blood pressure checks are crucial to the early detection of pre-eclampsia and are associated with better maternal and neonatal outcomes.
