Adipokines measured in early pregnancy as a predictive factor of gestational diabetes mellitus, insulin requirements and weight change in pregnancy
Introduction and aims of the study: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as glucose intolerance first diagnosed during pregnancy. Certain substances produced by adipose tissue, called adipokines, are considered key in the pathogenesis of GDM. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between adipokines measured in the first trimester and the occurrence of this complication later in pregnancy.
