Early severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) - case report

Introduction and aims of the study: Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a uncommon life-threatening complication of ovarian stimulation associated with ART procedure. It appears in approximately 1% of IVF cycles. Severe form is characterized by ovarian enlargement, oliguria, hemoconcentration and fluid shift into extravascular compartments such as peritoneum, pleura and less often pericardium. Early OHSS occurs within 2 –7 days after HCG trigger administration.
