55. Use of Telehealth for the Provision of Outpatient Treatment for Patients With Eating Disorders During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Eating disorder (ED) diagnoses and hospitalizations and the use of telehealth rose substantially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This resulted in many adolescent patients with EDs receiving care via telehealth rather than in-person. The aim of our study was to determine if adolescent patients and/or their parents/guardians found telehealth visits to be an acceptable alternative to in-person visits with respect to their outpatient ED care. We were particularly interested in evaluating how past experience with office visits, as well as age, would affect participants ’ responses.
