60. What We Fail to Teach: A Systematic Review of Sexual Health Education in the Deep South

Given the disproportionately high rates of STIs among adolescents in the Deep South, a closer look at sexual health education – a fundamental element of sexual health –is crucial. Utilizing the Population-Intervention-Comparison-Outcome (PICO) question formation model, we explored the literature for school-based sex-ed for children and adolescents in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina to incre ase understanding of the current policies, practice, and impact of sexual health education on adolescents in this region.
