194. Effectiveness of Interactive School-Based Substance Use Prevention Education among Adolescents
The increasing trend of substance abuse among adolescents is concerning, with 45.6% of Thai drug users aged 15-24. Among adolescents, the lifetime prevalence of substance use was 15.4%, while illicit substances use range from 5-7%. Substance use prevention education demonstrated significant reductions in substance abuse, both in the short-term and long-term follow-up. Over-the-Counter (OTC) drugs, such as tramadol, cough medications, and the concoction known as 4x100, have become notably popular among adolescents in school settings in Thailand.
