Surgery as primary treatment improved overall survival in vulvar squamous cancer: A single center study with 108 women

Vulvar cancer is a rare gynecological malignancy with high morbidity and mortality rates. The American incidence rate is 2.6 per 100,000 women/year, and the mortality rate is 0.5 per 100,000 women/year [1]. It is an elderly disease, although the incidence in younger groups is increasing, probably related to HPV infection [2]. The literature is scarce due to its rarity, a challenge for developing guidelines on management [3].
