Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Is A Viable Option For Aortic Stenosis Patients Presenting With Cardiogenic Shock
Prior studies have demonstrated that cardiogenic shock (CS) in patients with concomitant severe aortic stenosis (AS) is associated with a>40% incidence of in-hospital mortality when treated with medical therapy alone. There have been limited prior reports on the outcomes of critically ill patients with severe AS and CS who are treated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
