Effects of benidipine and amlodipine on viability of right deep circumflex iliac artery perforator flap: an experimental rat-model of reconstructive surgery

ConclusionsPresent study showed that the benidipine reduced ischemic damage and necrosis and increased viability in DCIA perforator flap as much as amlodipine did, but not significantly. The benidipine was found to be at least as effective as amlodipine in terms of amelioration of blood flow and angiogenesis in perforator flaps. Underlying mechanisms dose-dependent relationship should be clearly demonstrated in further studies.  Level of evidence: Not ratable
