AbstractInternet gaming disorder (IGD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are two distinct conditions that have gained increasing recognition for their prevalence and impact on contemporary society. IGD is characterized by excessive and problematic gaming behavior, often resulting in adverse consequences across various life domains. This review aims to delve into the complex relationship between IGD and ADHD, acknowledging their co-occurrence. The examination focuses on several key aspects, including the potential neural effects, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, and the social impact associated with ADHD and video game use. By offering a balanced perspective, this review seeks to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the interplay between IGD and ADHD, recognizing their distinctions and potential areas of interaction.
