Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation attenuated neuroinflammation and oxidative stress by activating SIRT1-induced signaling pathway in MCAO/R rat models

CONCLUSIONS: In summary, these findings clearly suggested that TEAS attenuated brain damage by suppressing apoptosis, oxidative stress and neuroinflammation through modulating SIRT1/FOXO3a and SIRT1/BRCC3/NLRP3 signaling pathways following ischemic stroke, which can be a promising treatment for stroke patients.PMID:38141805 | DOI:10.1016/j.expneurol.2023.114658
