46. Does the use of antibiotics prophylaxis affect the rate of postoperative fistula rates in cleft palate patients?

Background: Postoperative infection following cleft palate repair can lead to wound dehiscence and subsequent fistula formation. In order to prevent this, many surgeons advocate the use of post- operative antibiotic prophylaxis which isn ’t without risk. With limited published data and variability both countrywide and in our unit, we wanted to address this research question.
