IgE directly affects eosinophil migration in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps through CCR3 and predicts the efficacy of omalizumab

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a heterogeneous disease resulting from persistent inflammation of the sinonasal mucosa that affects approximately 2% of the general adult population worldwide.1-3 CRSwNP significantly reduces health-related quality of life, increases the risk of depression and anxiety,4,5 and presents a large health and economic burden.6 Eosinophilic CRSwNP is one of the most relapsed CRSwNP, which has been shown to have greater clinical severity and is often associated with asthma comorbidity, loss of smell, extensive sinus disease, higher recurrence rate, and poorer prognosis, thus causing great distress to patients and requiring more attention from clinicians.
