Are free-living older adults at a higher risk of falls if they fail to meet the UK guidelines for diet: A cross-sectional study using the UK Biobank

Rationale: Each year, falls occur in 30% of adults over 65 years and are associated with fragility fractures, reduced quality of life, hospitalisation and mortality (1). Given the association between lifestyle behaviours and the risk of falls, this study will consider how adherence to the current UK dietary guidelines relates to the likelihood of falling in the previous 12 months.
