Micronutrient status in children with short bowel syndrome
Rationale: Children with short bowel syndrome may be unable to absorb sufficient vitamins and trace elements. Weaning from parenteral (PN) to enteral (EN) nutrition is a particularly vulnerable period for micronutrient deficiencies due to the limited absorptive capacity and decreasing parenteral micronutrient supplementation.
