In reply to the Letter to the Editor regarding: Healthcare expenditure trends among adult stroke patients in the United States, 2011-2020

We would like to thank Sterpetti and colleagues for their interest in our study.1 The findings of our study showed that stroke patients incur notably higher healthcare costs in comparison to those who did not experience stroke.1 This disparity is attributed to increased spending on inpatient services, prescription medications, and visits to healthcare providers. These results are concerning because stroke prevalence is projected increase in the future due to both aging population and improved survival rates.
