Muscle strength and mobility of individuals with COVID-19 compared with non-COVID-19 in intensive care

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic resulted in a burden of hospitalizations, high rates of intensive care admissions and the use of invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), posing unprecedented challenges to intensive care services globally. COVID-19 was identified in December 2019 and caused the COVID-19 pandemic, which was essentially controlled with access to vaccination.1 Before vaccination, 15% of individuals with COVID-19 required hospitalization. Also, 5% of the infected population and 20% of hospitalized individuals required IMV.
