India reveals more toxic syrups months after poisoning deaths

Indian drug regulator has discovered that cough syrup and anti-allergy syrup manufactured by Norris Medicines are toxic, containing contaminants diethylene glycol (DEG) or ethylene glycol (EG). The same contaminants were found in Indian-made cough syrups that caused the deaths in Gambia, Uzbekistan and Cameroon since the middle of last year.
