Recent advances in systems metabolic engineering

This article provides a review of the recent tools and strategies used for enzyme-, genetic module-, pathway-, flux-, genome-, and cell-level engineering, supported by illustrative examples. Furthermore, we highlight recent trends in systems metabolic engineering, which involve the application of multiple tools discussed in this review.
