Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS ®) Protocol for Liver Surgery: The impact of epidural catheter placement

Background:Compare the use of intraoperative vasopressors, postoperative mobility and pain between patients with epidural catheter and patients without epidural catheter, but with a strategy of multimodal analgesia, undergoing open liver surgery. We also assessed for differences in the following outcomes: length of stay, fluid therapy, complications rate, postoperative nausea and vomiting and return of bowel function.
