Ensuring most optimal C3

Background: Finding the motor threshold over the right motor hand area is an integral part of cortical mapping and is conducted at approximately C3 on the motor strip. Two different scalp-based techniques have been taught frequently to find the position of maximal C3 stimulation. At Harvard, C3 was found by measuring from the 5 cm from the vertex on a line from vertex to tragus The second measurement is based on the 10-20 International System where C3 is found by calculating 20% of the distance from tragus to tragus and measured from vertex to tragus marking this value.
