Psychedelic Microdosing: What Is It Good For?

Over the past decade, the practice of microdosing —repeatedly using very low doses of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and other psychedelics every few days to enhance well-being—has received enormous public attention. Several books have been written on the topic, describing transformative experiences and improved mood, energy, creativity, inte rpersonal connectedness, and cognition (1). Yet empirical evidence for the beneficial effects is sparse, and several controlled laboratory studies have failed to support these widespread claims (2).
