Baseline Transvalvular Gradient Predicts Reduction in Pressure Augmentation Index Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients With Aortic Stenosis

Arterial stiffness provides an additional left ventricular afterload to valvular obstruction in patients with aortic stenosis (AS). Elevated arterial stiffness can be reflected by a higher aortic pressure augmentation index (AIx). The effect of baseline transaortic valve mean gradient (MG) and flow rate (TFR) on arterial stiffness following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is not well understood.
