Examining and Addressing Children ’s Exposure to Violence: The Role of the Pediatric Clinician

Exposure to violence disrupts a child ’s health and development more significantly than most other experiences and exposures. This issue of Pediatric Clinics of North America is dedicated to helping clinicians identify and support children and families who experience violence in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods. Violence exposu re is by nature intersectional, rarely occurring in isolation. Children who are exposed to intimate partner violence are often direct victims of physical or emotional abuse.
