Endocrinology and Fatty Liver Disease
The last decade has witnessed a significant increase in the incidence and prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and their metabolic consequences in both the pediatric and the adult populations. Among those complications, there was a tremendous increase in what patients describe as fatty liver disease. Therefore, it is appropriate that an issue be devoted to metabolic-associated fatty liver disease. This issue discusses its pathogenesis and associated conditions, including its occurrence in the “lean” populations.
