Prevalence of probable eating disorders and associated risk factors in children and adolescents aged 5 –16 years in Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates: observational case–control study

ConclusionThis study represents the first attempt to assess the probable prevalence of the risk of eating disorders in children and adolescents in the UAE. This young population have high risk of eating disorders and it was significantly higher in obese children than normal weight children. These results highlight the importance of addressing eating disorders in this population and the need for early detection and intervention strategies.
