Type 2 Diabetes: SGLT2i-Associated Genitourinary Infections and Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction
This article provides details on an overview of SGLT2i, including their use in the treatment of T2D, associated genitourinary infections and the effect of T2D on lower urinary tract (LUT) dysfunction. Nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic management strategies are also included to manage genitourinary side effects of SGLT2i and optimize bladder function and possibly minimize LUT dysfunction.
