Po-05-062 gaps in care for heart failure patients indicated for device therapy

Guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) has been the foundation of treatment in heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The use of beta-blockers (BB), angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-I), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB), angiotensin and neprilysin inhibitors (ARNI), mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRA), the combination of hydralazine and isosorbide dinitrate, and implantation of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) without/with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT-D) have been shown to improve outcomes.
