Effects of strength focussed, multidisciplinary online prehabilitation on pain and function in long waiter ( & gt52 weeks) knee arthroplasty patients; the joint approach programme.

Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the length of wait for joint replacement surgery in the UK. Consequent deterioration in patients' health and quality of life pre-operatively leads to longer lengths of stay post-operatively and inferior outcomes. The purpose of this pilot service evaluation, delivered within a UK NHS setting (Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB)) was to evaluate the effectiveness of a multidisciplinary, online prehabilitation and education programme (Joint Approach) on the pain, function and quality of life of patients who had been waiting for knee replacement surgery for>52 weeks.
