Effect Ketamine Infusion Protocol on Pain Management and Opioid Consumption in Opioid Tolerant Cancer Patients

The cancer pain is widespread ranged from between 30% to 70% for patients in early in the diagnosis and intense as the disease progression. Opioids don't treat pain separately from other medication that produces painkiller. Prolonged use of opioids may increase the risk of reducing the effectiveness of opioids which causes increase in pain levels, and then tolerance may increase unresponsiveness to opioids which also lead to elevating pain and opioid consumption. One of the most causes of lowering opioids responsiveness is the (NMDA) receptor.
